This is a great IPA, it doesn't assault you with hops but it's no slouch either. It's heavy on the bittering side but has nice hope flavor and aroma to match, it's crisp, clean and pretty much everything you want an IPA to be. Sure there are bigger IPA's out there, but this one is great for every day drinking.

I love this beer, it's smooth, rich and has just about everything I want. This beer eludes me for a proper description, the smooth oakiness and high alcohol combine to make this a perfect sipping beer. It doesn't even seem like beer to me sometimes. Now that I think about it I have a couple bottles I've been aging.
Anyways this is a blend of regular 90 minute and barrel aged 90 minute. The oak is subtle thanks to the blending. The hops have mellowed out as a result of the aging and what is left is a slightly sweet very smooth ale, it's a little pricey, but worth it in my book and for me it's the best thing DFH puts out

Nice up front hops, which fade off to a smooth finish. This isn't what you'd normally expect from a winter or Christmas themed beer. This beer offers nice grassy hoppiness without being overwhelming in any way. Hoppy beers generally aren't this smooth and that's what really makes this beer fit in for the later months of the year. The hops add a bit of slickness to the mouthfeel, and the fact that it seems to disappear shortly after drinking make Rogue Santa's Private Reserve a good session beer for the winter months! Available in both 6 packs and bombers it fits in for almost any occasion and with a fun label to boot it's great to bring to your friend’s holiday parties.

For me this is the perfect coffee beer, sure Founder's Breakfast stout is amazing, but to me that's a stout first. Perhaps this is and argument of semantics, but I thin of them differently. With a great coffee flavor that blends perfectly with the rich malt tones you really want to drink this all the time. Sadly it's not sold in MA so I have to wait for those rare times when a keg magically makes it's way out here. It is truly and amazing beer
