So, I am having my Christmas party at my house next weekend. I am trying to come up with what I want to do beerwise. I usually get a few holiday variety packs, Shipyard, Sammy, Saranac or the like. But I am thinking of changing it up a little. Maybe some growlers from Opa Opa, Harpoon, and Cape Ann Brewing (good excuse to check out the tasting room). Any thoughts?

I think that's a great idea! One of the tough things about growlers is it all has to great drank the night you open it, or it starts to go down hill fast. So a party is the perfect place to get a few for. If you're going to go from Opa Opa in Western MA to Harpoon (in Boston I assume... or you going to Vermont?) then Cape Ann, I would say not to miss Cambridge Brewing Company in Cambridge, MA. They don't distribute, so you have to get growlers there if you want to drink it anywhere but their restaurant. Also, hit Mayflower Brewing Company in Plymouth, MA. You can get the IPA, which isn't bottled yet and is delicious.

I was happy to find Opa Opa at Kappys in Peabody(where I love). They are apparently distributing in metro Boston, which I was not aware of. So, the big road trip would be to Mayflower(the reviews all sound good, so I may try to take the trip). I forgot Ipwisch Ale too.
