Cambridge Brewing Company's Barleywine & American Mild Ales: Excellent 2 Years ago Karma: 3
Hey ya'll. Just wanted to give a heads-up. I was over at the CBC on Friday, and tried their barleywine... DAMN!!! It's an amazing summer barleywine! Aged in chardonnay barrels, it was not what I was expecting... Dry, light, refreshing, but it packed a punch at 10%abv+. I definitely recommend going down and checking the place out. They say fresh beer is best, and it doesn't get fresher than drinking at the source. Also, you'll get a chance to support your local brewery. Also, their American Mild was AMAZING!!! Hoppy, easy drinking, low ABV... Great for summer... Throw back a barleywine, then relax with a few milds... It'll be a good day! Check out the site and descriptions here:

http://www.cambridgebrewingcompany.com/seasonals.htm

Also, they have directions on the site.

I've had their arquebus barleywine as well and concur, its freakin' awesome! Don't think they're making it anymore, but put it on your list for next summer, its a must try! Get down there for their Great Pumpkin Ale, probably the best pumpkin around in my opinion.

BTW they are tapping the cask conditioned version of great pumpkin on Oct 31st. A few of use will be there and as always we encourage people to join us.

I was just at CBC last night. Both Endless Summer IPA, and Golden Ring (Abbey Pale Ale) are very good brews. Though Endless Summer is not as hoppy as their Red God IPA (as they state) it still has a very nice hop value to it. Smooth, refreshing and just over-all a nice IPA to drink (and still have taste buds left afterwards). The Golden Ring is a nice yeasty , lighter beer. Unfortunately I was not taking notes, so that is as in-depth as I can get into. Two beers to check out though.

Nice! Yeah, I love CBC, I've been meaning to get back over there for a while. I love the Wind Cried Mari and Arquebus... and the Great Pumpkin Ale is possibly the greatest pumpkin beer ever created. Last year they had it on cask and DAMN! If I wasn't prepping and saving for the road trip, I'd totally be over there. As is, may have to stop for a beer soon.
